Dr. James Lacey is a Royal College and American
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, with a Fellowship in Hand Surgery
who attended medical school at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Upon
graduation, he went on to complete a Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery residency at the McGill University Health Centre in Montreal.
Dr. Lacey then assumed the role of Hand
Fellow and Instructor in Hand Surgery during a one year fellowship
in Hand and Microsurgery at the University of Rochester, New
York. Dr. Lacey is also
a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is therefore
Board Certified in both the U.S.A. and Canada.
He founded "Barrie Plastic Surgery" in
2000 and went on staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) of
Barrie. During his 5 years at the RVH in Barrie, he organized
a hand therapy program that is essential for the treatment and
rehabilitation of hand and wrist patients. He also formed a Wound
Care Program to provide education, prevention, and treatment
of patients with wounds. He was a member of the Women's Breast
Health Committee and participated in the local Breast Cancer
Support Group because
of his interest in breast reconstruction. While in Barrie, Dr.
Lacey had staff privileges at the Collingwood Marine and General
Hospital, and Huronia District and Memorial Hospital.
For several years Dr. Lacey also operated at the Cosmetic Surgery Hospital in Woodbridge, just
north of Toronto. This
hospital is dedicated solely to cosmetic surgery and is one of
the oldest and most established private hospitals in Canada. It
is owned and operated by one of the most renowned and respected
Plastic and Cosmetic surgeons in Canada, Dr. Lloyd Carlsen.
Dr. Lacey also taught medical students and residents through the Rural
Ontario Medicine Program (ROMP)
Clinically, Dr. Lacey's interests center on Cosmetic, Hand
and Reconstructive Surgery.
He is an active member of the:

In September 2005 Dr. Lacey moved to Ottawa and established Kanata Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Lacey and his staff are proud to be working in their permanent location at March School House #2 built in 1892. This building has been completely renovated and expanded. It is located north of Alcatel just past Old Carp Road. His plastic surgery practice has extended to include an on-site private surgical facility and complete medical esthetics including laser skin services.
Dr. James Lacey has enjoyed being on staff at the Almonte General Hospital since 2005, where he performs Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Lacey also covers the newly expanded Emergency Department of the Almonte General Hospital. |
